Ben Bostrom's first MotoGP 37 years old

Ben Boz puts in the hours at Laguna Seca

Ben Bostrom didn't have the weekend he was hoping for at the USGP but the 37-year old American certainly got his fair share of laps of the track. B-Boz was racing in the AMA and as a wildcard entry in the MotoGP, riding for LCR Honda.

Unfortunately for B-Boz he didn't get the LCR Honda 'near the front' as he said he'd wanted to in a pre-race interview. During the race, the pace was just too hot for the AMA Superbike rider and he retired from last place - after running off the track at turn one. Bostrom returned 'home' to his Michael Jordan Motorsports Suzuki GSX-R1000 for the AMA Superbike race, finishing in fifth place on the production based machine.

Embarassingly for MotoGP and it's millions of pounds worth of technology, Josh Hayes was quicker on his AMA SBK-spec Yamaha R1 than Ben on the RCV. Granted, it was B-Boz's first ride of the bike but more telling was Hayes' time of 1:24.4 was only three tenths off the struggling Toni Elias.
