Suzuki India (SMIPL) is riding the wave of momentum into summer 2025, posting a solid 16 per cent year-on-year growth in May sales.

The firm shifted a total of 1,28,896 units last month, a healthy jump from 1,11,512 units sold in May 2024.

Zooming in, the domestic market did most of the heavy lifting with 1,07,780 units sold, up 17 per cent from last year’s tally of 92,032. Exports also held steady, ticking up 8 per cent to 21,116 units. It’s all part of what Suzuki India is calling a strong customer endorsement of their two-wheeled offerings.

Deepak Mutreja, SMIPL’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, was keen to credit the “trust our customers continue to place in the brand,” adding that May’s numbers “set the tone for what lies ahead.” With market sentiment clearly blowing in the right direction, Suzuki says it's committed to “consistent value” and that all-important aftersales support.

And it’s not just about petrol power anymore. Suzuki’s electric ambitions are beginning to take shape too, with production of the e-ACCESS, Suzuki’s first electric scooter for India, kicking off at the company’s Gurgaon plant.

The brand also rolled out the new Ride Connect TFT Edition of the ever-popular Suzuki Access, along with the OBD-2B compliant Avenis, ticking all the boxes on the tech and emissions front. Suzuki also laid the foundation stone for a new factory in Kharkhoda, Haryana, a move clearly aimed at beefing up production capacity for the long haul.

Suzuki Motorcycle India has been on the scene since 2006, producing scooters and motorcycles from its Gurugram facility. The plant currently has an annual output of around 1.3 million units, and with fresh investment and new models in the pipeline, the company is showing no signs of rolling off the throttle.
