MV Agusta has confirmed the roles for its board members after fully transitioning away from KTM.

MV Agusta has officially announced its return to being fully independent following the well-documented split with KTM.

The brand’s partnership with KTM AG ended earlier this year as a result of financial struggles suffered by the Austrian brand. This led to MV terminating its two-year partnership with KTM, as the Sardarov family, which owned the company before it was bought by KTM, regained full control.

Since its split MV has confirmed the company is doing well and that the sales targets for 2025 are to match that of 2024. Last year the company sold around 4,000 motorbikes, which was a huge increase of 116 per cent compared to 2023.

It is also set to welcome new models in the near future, one of which could arrive just before this year’s EICMA trade show in Milan, which we reported last month.

The official departure from KTM has now been processed, and with that has come a new board. The current roles see Luca Martin - formerly in the position of Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO - inherit the position of company CEO.

Filippo Bassoli has been confirmed as the new Board Member and Chief Brand & Marketing Officer, while Timur Sardarov and Ratmir Sardarov will be the non-executive Directors, representing Art of Mobility. Hubert Trunkenpolz, who has also departed KTM, is confirmed as Chairman of the MV Agusta Board of Directors.

Timur Sardarov, CEO of Art of Mobility, said: “We are entering a new and exciting era for MV Agusta. I would like to congratulate Luca Martin on his appointment as CEO — his leadership, experience, and strategic mindset will be key in shaping the brand’s next phase. I am extremely proud of the progress we’ve made and of the outstanding work by the entire MV Agusta team. Our commitment to innovation, craftsmanship, and performance remains stronger than ever.”
