MV Agusta Provides Post-PMG Update: New Model Incoming

Now that MV Agusta has officially broken away from KTM, it’s wasting no time reasserting its independence, with a new bike on the way from Varese.

Now that MV Agusta has officially exited KTM’s orbit, the Italian marque has reclaimed full ownership under the Sardarov family, marking a hard pivot back to its roots.

The deal, initiated in a separation agreement inked January 2025, now heads into the final stages. Pierer Mobility AG (PMG) will hand over remaining shares to Art of Mobility SA, owned by MV’s CEO, Timur Sardarov, who says this is exactly the reboot the brand needed.

From the heart of Varese, Schiranna’s factory hums with lean manufacturing thanks to a freshly installed layout built on Toyota-style efficiency. And Centro Stile, the company's design hub, is sliding into its ancestral home on the factory floor, renewing the 'Made in Varese' vibe with every sketch.

Meanwhile, the dealer network plays no second fiddle. The existing chain remains fully operational, with new regions springing up across Europe, the Americas, Oceania and Asia. Partnerships with private importers are locked in, and spare parts logistics are shifting too, moving from an interim KTM-backed system to a global supply chain partner aiming for a seven-day delivery window by end-2025.

Building on a strong 2024

2024 was a strong year for MV, with around 4,000 machines sold, a massive 116 per cent jump on 2023, and parts availability hitting nearly 99 per cent. Looking ahead to 2025/2026, a brand-new model is reported to be dropping just before EICMA this year. It’s claimed to be in the final stages of development, with MV stating it has virtually no carry-over parts, just one per cent from the previous model.

Look beyond the Halls of Milan to 2026 and beyond, MV’s roadmap includes a full product-line refresh and even exploration into new segments. True, MV hasn’t formally confirmed a return to WSBK or MotoGP, but with that engine prototype slated for EICMA and the brand rekindling its racing spirit, expectations are growing.

Premium pricing, accessibility and peace of mind

Riders can expect a new pricing regime that keeps MV exclusive without locking out potential new owners. Across most of Europe, sales plans direct from MV (PCP/HP), might bring it bikes within reach for riders who were previously priced out. There’s also now a five-year factory warranty covering everything from the top-of-the-range Ottantesimo Collection to the F3 Competizione and Enduro Veloce range.

Backstage words from Luca Martin

Speaking about the Italian brand’s ongoing journey, Luca Martin, MV’s Executive Director, said:

“What we’re accomplishing at MV Agusta nowadays is truly special. Considering the challenges we’ve faced since the early days of KTM’s financial difficulties, the progress made in such a short time speaks volumes about the strength and dedication of our people. Across every area—operations, design, production, and many more areas —we’ve seen a remarkable response. From Schiranna to every part of our worldwide network, the team has embraced this new chapter with determination, passion, and a deep sense of responsibility. I’m proud of how far we’ve come, together, and even more motivated by the road ahead. MV Agusta is not only reaffirming its independence; it’s laying the foundation for a new era built on excellence and authenticity.”

Why this matters

MV Agusta has weathered debt storms, split alliances, and complex restructures for most of its life as a bike maker. This mid-year update isn’t just spin, with investment in infrastructure, fresh products, re-energised logistics, and reassuring customer support. The reborn MV is setting out to prove that it’s no longer a KTM appendage, but that it's heading back to being an independent icon.
