Overall Review

See above

Strengths

High quality parts, such as Brembo brakes and wheels. Much improved paintwork that is withstanding English weather very well. Grunty motor from all but the lowest revs(2 valve engine). Adjustable shocker and forks, cumfy seat. Good handling, but not sportbike style. Well balanced bike in slow trafic situations. Draws many admiring glances from most age groups. Knowledgable backup easily obtainable.

Weaknesses

Basic bike is just what it is. No centre stand, no rear hugger, no ABS etc. The only mechanical downside, the Gearbox could be better as could the fueling. Its been deleted from the Guzzi line-up, WHY?

Overall Review

I bought the Breva 1200 after prevaricating over the earlier 1100 version. Having sold my previous tourer,I wanted a motorcycle that reminded me of that feeling of riding a 'Real bike' but without the oil leaks and unreliability etc. I've ridden the Norge, which is the Breva 1200 with a fairing, and it's probably more suited to touring than the Breva. I still rode to Germany on the Breva though, where it kept up with a Blackbird and a Ducati ST4 on all but the fastest stretches of Autobahn. The Guzzi engine really does improve as the mileage increases; nobody really believes it, but it's true! You have to take time to get used to a Moto Guzzi; there's nothing else like them; a real Marmite machine I suppose. .I love mine.

Strengths

Lovely characterful engine. Excellent Brembo brakes.23l fuel tank. 47-50 mpg all the time. Shaft drive. Comfy seat. The finish is good; better than some other brands I could mention. Parts are generally much more easily available than I thought they would be too!

Weaknesses

A bit low spec, but mine did come with OE panniers (which let a bit of water in sometimes). I've had to pay out for heated grips, screen, rack and top box, centre stand, engine bars, fenda extender, and hand guards. I changed the mirrors for the better 'Sport' ones. For the price - £8,000 (in 2009) they could/should have included the centre stand and some other bits as well. You need to identify a good Moto Guzzi dealer for servicing as well.

Overall Review

I tried to love it, I really did. I know I previously said I did, but I was only kidding myself. I hope it can forgive me, and I wish it a happy life with its new partner

Strengths

Some engine character.

Weaknesses

Most of the engine character is stifled by emissions regulations.
