Vespa’s 2026 plans were revealed at last week’s EICMA show, which gave us intriguing updates to the Primavera and Sprint S models. That was paired with a celebration of its upcoming 80th anniversary through a special model series.

Style and elegance has never been a problem for Vespa. In fact, it’s probably what the Italian brand does better than anything else.

Those two words certainly sum up the company’s 2026 range, with new Primavera and Sprint S models leading the charge. As combustion-engined models, both scooters come in three flavours for 2026, including 50, 125 and 150cc versions, with technical, functional and design updates made.

The major change is the inclusion of a new 220mm steel disc at the rear with a twin-piston caliper, which has replaced the traditional rear drum brake.

From there, new 12-inch wheels have also been introduced, while a new five-slat grille is found on the left-hand side panel that’s exclusive to the Vespa Sprint S. The front mudguard crest on the Vespa Primavera has also been redesigned and refined.

All Primavera and Sprint S versions once again feature the brand’s retractable bag hook that lies beneath the handlebar, which Vespa says is “perfect for carrying a handbag or small item of luggage and enhancing practicality in everyday urban use”.

Sure to be another welcome change aboard all 50cc-plus Primavera and Sprint S models is its new keyless system. A completely new dashboard makes its debut across both platforms, which features full LCD technology. Both models are also available in electric form, and they come with removable batteries.

Beyond the scooters, Vespa has neatly revealed some new colours to its open-face Argentario helmet, which offer up very closely matched colours found on the Sprint S and Primavera.

New blue, cinnabar green and glossy beige colourways have all been revealed, meaning you can pretty much blend in with the scooter from head-to-toe if that sort of thing interests you.

Finally, Vepsa is turning 80 years of age in 2026 and is planning huge celebrations in Rome from the 25 to 28 June, 2026. Part of those celebrations now includes a new 80th special series (special design in other words), which will be offered on the Primavera and GTS models.

The new design is the same for both the Primavera and GTS, with a new Verde Pastello (pastel green) colour now featured. The anniversary livery covers the entire body of both scooters, while also extending itself to the wheels.
