Intermot motorcycle show shifts to a more customer-focused approach

Intermot is promising “more exhibitors, more action, [and] the full motorcycle experience” when the expo returns in February 2027, while a new indoor test track is also set to offer customers a more intimate experience.

The event was originally due to take place in December later this year, however, organisers confirmed it would be moved to early 2027 instead, meaning it won’t clash with shows such as EICMA and MCL. 

In terms of new activities, the new indoor test track is the headline addition to the event, and it will cover a space of approximately 500 metres. This will allow customers to test brand-new 2027 machinery on a track that offers premium levels of grip, according to the organisers, while more than 1,000 test rides will be available over the course of each day. 

For those of you that are planning to attend the show in Cologne, which takes place on February 19-21, you should know that helmets, jackets and gloves will all be provided for test ride opportunities. 

Part of the show’s new plans include a feature called ‘Playground’, where stunt riders will perform in order to bring new energy to the event. 

The show will also feature a dedicated section for adventure riding enthusiasts, while an exhibition celebrating historic race bikes will be shown off under the theme "100 Years of Nürburgring Nordschleife”.

While the 2027 edition of the Intermot trade fair will certainly be about new motorcycles and experiences, there’s even something for people with a passion for mechanics and engineering, as timed tyre-changing contests for current trainees will be available for the public to participate in.
