LS2 reveals dual-purpose Torrent boots designed for riding and hiking

Helmet maker LS2 has revealed a new dual-purpose Torrent boot, which claims to be equally at home whether you’re hiking through the mountains or spending long days in the saddle. 

The new Torrent boots arrive in three colourways and with the same price as the Trekker footwear option (£139,99). This makes the Torrent variant the joint second most expensive option in LS2’s range, with only the Adventure boot model priced higher at £169,99.

LS2 says the new Torrent boots have been designed with comfort in mind, and to make this possible it has used a premium 3D mesh outer shell as part of the boots construction, which helps provide ventilation to stop overheating. 

Additionally, the 3D polyester mesh and TPU outer shell offers high abrasion resistance, and it is backed by reinforced toe and heel areas, plus an integrated IPA ankle protector for further impact resistance. In terms of safety, LS2 says “the Torrent is certified to Level 1 across all four test categories”. 

They are also designed to deal with the various conditions that riders will likely come across when riding, including wet weather, as the Torrent boots have achieved a 10,000mm H2O waterproof rating.

The boots gain a quick-release lacing system for good measure, which the company claims to offer a snug fit in seconds while making the boots very easy to slip on and off.

Furthermore, the Torrent boots receive a dual-density outsole that provides extra grip on tricky terrain, perfect for when you’ve reached your hiking destination on two wheels. 

Another element that shouldn’t be overlooked, specifically if you’re interested in the grey and reflective yellow option, are the strips on the heel and sides which could make you more visible to other road users, especially at night.
