Stark Varg MX and EX Factory Editions announced
Stark Future has revealed limited-edition Varg MX and EX Factory models featuring factory-spec KYB suspension, titanium upgrades and production capped at just 500 bikes worldwide.
Stark Future reckons its electric Varg couldn't be left alone for long, as now it's back with two new Factory Editions aimed squarely at riders who want the closest thing yet to the firm's race bikes.
The new Varg MX Factory Edition and Varg EX Factory Edition are both based on the existing 80bhp platform but receive a host of race-developed upgrades drawn from Stark's growing off-road competition programme. Production will also be strictly limited, with just 200 MX models and 300 EX bikes being built worldwide.
Rather than chasing punchier performance figures, Stark has focused on making the Varg easier to ride faster. The biggest change comes in the form of a full KYB Factory A-Kit suspension package, which the company says is the first time a complete race-spec KYB setup has been offered on a production motorcycle direct from the factory.
That means Kashima-coated forks and shock, DLC-coated internals, revised valving and an X-Trig preload adjuster at the rear. The MX gets 310mm of front wheel travel, while the enduro-focused EX runs a slightly shorter 300mm setup, with both sharing 303mm of rear travel.
The suspension isn't the only change. Both bikes gain 3D-printed titanium footpegs, a titanium bolt kit, a high-grip seat, individually numbered CNC-machined triple clamps and Stark's latest Dynamic Traction Control system, allowing riders to tailor rear-wheel slip depending on conditions. Altogether, the titanium components trim just over a kilogram from the overall weight.
The MX Factory Edition wears exclusive Stark Red graphics and rolls on Dunlop MX34 tyres, while the EX Factory Edition gets Forest Grey bodywork, Dunlop Geomax EN91 rubber, handguards, front and rear disc protection and retains full road homologation, making it suitable for riders wanting to link trails by road as well as tackle technical terrain.
Development has been overseen by former motocross world champion Sébastien Tortelli, now Racing Director at Stark Future, with lessons taken from the firm's racing efforts in World Supercross, SuperEnduro, EnduroGP and the Hard Enduro World Championship, including the Erzbergrodeo.
Tortelli said:
"The Varg already has the performance. With the Factory Editions, the focus was to give riders more grip, more precision, and more confidence to unlock more of that performance. These are built exactly how I would build my own."
Unlike many factory editions that amount to little more than fresh graphics and a handful of accessories, the changes here appear to be aimed at riders who will genuinely benefit from the upgraded chassis. Whether most owners can get everything out of the factory-spec suspension is another matter, but there's little doubt these are the most focused Vargs that Stark has produced to date.
The Varg MX Factory Edition is priced at £13,990, while the road-legal Varg EX Factory Edition costs £14,990. With production limited to a single global run of just 500 machines in total, they're likely to become sought-after additions to Stark's growing line-up.
