Suzuki strengthens scooter line-up with Avenis and Address 125s

Suzuki has bolstered its scooter roster with the announcement of two new 125cc machines: the Avenis and the Address. They will be available from October.

Two new scooters have been announced by Suzuki, which look to bolster its two-wheeled roster.

Suzuki’s new scooters are both powered by 125cc engines, and both of their names begin with the letter “A”, which is totally unimportant, but a fact nonetheless.

The Address and Avenis 125s arrive in Suzuki’s scooter range to provide options below the established Burgman 400

But, although there are the aforementioned similarities between the two scooters, they are not identical. Starting with the aesthetics, the Address is modest and almost retro in its styling, while the Avenis has more aggressive and ‘sporty’ looks.

Typifying the Address’ styling is its single, round headlight, while the ‘torn’ effect on the Avenis’ graphics combined with its sharper angles confirm its aggression.

“The Address oozes style,” Suzuki says, while its retro aesthetic extends to the instrument cluster, where the rider will find a modern-style digital display that is accompanied by a traditional, analogue speedometer.

Using the digital display, the rider will be able to check their fuel consumption, for example. The Address is equipped with Suzuki Eco Drive Illumination (SEDI), which Suzuki says “helps encourage and achieve economical riding.” This is one of the focus points of the Address, which is capable of up to 148.6mpg.

Aside from the impressive fuel economy, the Address can also pump out a peak horsepower of 8.7hp, as well as 10Nm of torque, which should make it pretty handy under the city (traffic) lights.

Furthermore, the Address comes with under-seat storage and a USB socket at the front.

If you were to describe a vehicle as ‘sportier’ than another, you might expect that sporty one to be smaller than the vehicle against which it is being compared. However, that is not the case when it comes to the Avenis and the Address. The Avenis is longer, wider and taller than the Address, although it has the same motor with the same performance and economy statistics.

Once you are riding, one of the things you will notice most when riding the Avenis compared to the Address is the lack of an analogue speedometer. That is because the Avenis’ dashboard is entirely digital.

Like the Address, the Avenis features SEDI, and it features under-seat storage with additional storage compartments at the front.

Both the Avenis and Address will become available in Suzuki dealers from October.
