2027 KTM 450 SMR receives new look, and a customer-friendly incentive

KTM’s supermoto range has gained an updated 450 SMR packed with premium components and race-proven technology.

At the heart of the new model is the same SOHC 450cc engine as before, however, the 2027 bike features a sharp new look that includes black handguards, wheel rims, silencer and seat. 

The bike is also augmented by multiple maps, traction and launch control and a Suter slipper clutch.

The new look might be enough to persuade some customers to spend the £11,449 that it will take to buy the updated 450 SMR, but if you need a bit more convincing, then you should know that it is also part of the Austrian brand’s Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty.

That means coverage for up to one year at no extra cost, giving riders more peace of mind during their first year of ownership. 

To keep the warranty valid, riders will need to adhere to the owner’s manual, which includes using the bike as intended and completing scheduled services at an authorised KTM dealership.

Having taken Lukas Höllbacher to the 2025 FIM Supermoto World Championship title, the 450 SMR is one of the most race-proven supermoto bikes in its category.

To achieve this, the bike makes use of Brembo brakes and WP XACT suspension. The 450 SMR comprises 48mm closed cartridge forks up front and a streamlined rear shock, which are premium additions to the new model, both of which are fully adjustable, too.

The new model has also been tuned to meet the current noise standards set by the FIM for racing, which has a noise limit of 109db.

The new model is available to buy starting from September 2026.
