Triumph has launched a new Speed Twin 1200 TFC, which becomes the fifth model to wear the Triumph Factory Custom badge after the Thruxton, Rocket and Bobber (twice).

TFC models sit atop the brand’s ultra-premium range, and this new Speed Twin 1200 is no different, arriving full of premium parts including Öhlins suspension, carbon fibre bodywork, a leather and suede seat, and black detailing throughout. Already positioned as the company's most performance-bred modern classic, the Speed Twin 1200 TFC also gains sportier ergonomics courtesy of new clip-on handlebars, and touches of Obsidian Gold as part of its visual appearance.

The bike’s blacked-out parts start with the front forks and rear sprocket, and extend all the way through to the control plates and engine covers. The Akrapovič titanium silencers have also received the same treatment.

Only 750 units have been made worldwide, while customers in the UK can already pre-order their special-edition Speed Twin 1200 TFC.

Of course, the new model is powered by the same liquid-cooled parallel-twin that’s housed by the standard Speed Twin 1200, producing 103.5 bhp at 7,750rpm and 82.6 Ib-ft of torque at 4,250rpm.

The TFC variant also shares the same technology that’s found aboard the RS model, including Triumph’s Shift Assist function. Additionally, it gains three riding modes which include Sport, Road, and Rain. Cornering ABS and Traction Control are also standard features on the £18,495 Speed Twin 1200 TFC. The chassis boasts Brembo Stylema calipers up front, and a two-piston Nissin caliper at the rear.

Finally, the bike’s technology is brought to the rider via an LCD display that’s complemented by a colour TFT screen.

Nick Bell, Chief Marketing Officer of Triumph Motorcycles, said this about the new model:

“A Triumph Factory Custom is our opportunity to create something special. The new Speed Twin 1200 TFC takes the most performance-focused motorcycle in our Modern Classics range and elevates it with an exceptional level of detail, performance and exclusivity.

“The Speed Twin has always been admired for the way it blends timeless style, character and capability. With the TFC, we've pushed those qualities even further and the result is a motorcycle that feels even more dynamic, more exclusive and more rewarding to own and ride.”
