BMW R12 G/S GS Trophy Competition Bike launched ahead of off-road event
BMW Motorrad has launched a new R12 G/S GS Trophy Competition Bike, which has been built with the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2026 in mind.

Riders competing at the 2026 BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy event will have a new off-road-focused R12 G/S available to them.
The new machine has been built with this summer’s competition in mind, and although members of the public can configure their own, it will vary slightly compared to the official competition model.
Based on the standard R12 G/S, BMW says minor differences in the form of decals will exist between the bike used by riders at the International GS Trophy event in Romania, and the variants configured by customers.

At the heart of the competition model is the company’s two-cylinder boxer engine that produces a claimed 109 hp (107.5 bhp) at 7,000rpm and 85 Ib-ft of torque at 6,500rpm.
The new competition model also features a list of special equipment from the brand’s Comfort Package, including Hill Start Control, Gear Shift Assist Pro, heated grips and cruise control. Additionally, it also gains a Headlight Pro system with adaptive cornering light, various riding modes, an Enduro Package Pro with off-road-specific tyres, an 18-inch rear wheel and handlebar risers.

Engine protection bars, cylinder head covers, a Rally cockpit fairing, Akrapovič silencer, and a 5-litre tank bag complete the setup of the new BMW R12 G/S GS Trophy Competition Bike.
The colour mounted aboard the new GS is officially called ‘Lightwhite uni’ by BMW, and features red graphics along the tank. It also gets a bright red seat, and has a built-in navigation system.

The 2026 International GS Trophy takes place on September 13-18 in Romania, and will test riders' ability across different terrain, including mountain roads, forests, rivers, and small villages.
