Ace Cafe London has been forced to extend its temporary closure every Friday evening, due to persistent anti-social behaviour taking place in the area.

Ace Cafe started its ongoing closure six weeks ago, while its latest update confirmed it will be closed from 6pm tomorrow evening.

By shutting its doors every Friday evening, the cafe says it is preserving the safety and wellbeing of staff members, customers, neighbours and the wider community.

It’s unclear how long the temporary closure will go on for, however, it could continue for another few weeks based on the information provided in the statement.

This is because the cafe has no authority over the public highway, while it goes on to say that local authorities have not “provided the policing required to address these ongoing issues”.

The cafe is well-known for hosting its popular Friday bike nights gatherings, and has done so with regularity since re-opening in 1997.

The cafe offers like-minded people the chance to celebrate life on two wheels, although their doors have been closed after 6pm on every Friday since July 17.

Despite the temporary closure, some riders have still been gathering on public roads outside the cafe, allegedly making a lot of noise and riding dangerously.

The cafe is reportedly hopeful of opening its doors again soon on Friday evenings, but it will likely need assistance from the relevant authorities before that happens.

The full statement from Ace Cafe can be seen below:

“Six weeks ago, we made the difficult decision to close the Cafe on Friday evenings in the hope that the situation outside our premises would improve.

“Unfortunately, this has not been the case. Despite the temporary closure, the anti-social behaviour on the public highway has continued and remains beyond any control.

“Ace Cafe London has no authority over the public highway, and the relevant authorities have not provided the policing required to address these ongoing issues.

“The safety and wellbeing of our staff, customers, neighbours, and the wide community must always come first.

“For these reasons, Ace Cafe London will again be closed from 6pm on the evening of Friday 28 August.

“We sincerely thank our loyal customers, residents, and the wider community for their patience, understanding, and continued support during this incredibly difficult time.

“We respectfully request that you do not visit us after 6pm on this Friday.”
