Bultaco TSS350 to be revived as a limited-edition track-only model
Bultaco is bringing back the TSS350 as a modern, 103kg, 60bhp two-stroke track bike, but only 29 examples will be built.
Hot on the heels of a new midweight ADV arriving in Europe, the Spanish brand has just announced the revival of one of its most famous race bikes, the Bultaco TSS350.
While this machine may look like a genuine racer from the 60s and 70s, it is, in fact, a recreation, built using modern materials, engineering know-how and a level of precision that would have been hard to achieve back in the day.
The heart of the bike is a single-cylinder, 350cc two-stroke engine. With a bore and stroke of 78.50 x 71 mm, the peppy little single is said to produce a heady 60hp – around 10bhp more than the original model could muster.
Modern updates to the engine include a battery-powered programmable electronic ignition, while power is delivered to the rear wheel via a six-speed, cassette-type gearbox.
Famed for its high-speed stability and lightweight, the recreation model uses a double-cradle steel tube frame which features optimised, track-focused geometry.
Tipping the scales at just 103kg dry, the bike is claimed to be a contemporary take on the original TSS350, with improvements for performance, handling and reliability having all taken place.
The bike will now be built in a small batch in Bultaco’s homeland, Spain. Just 29 are set to be built, a number that harks back to the original TSS350’s ‘Model 29’ designation.
The run of bikes will all be individually numbered, with Bultaco confirming that the production run will “not be repeated”.
Pricing for the new model isn’t quoted on the Bultaco website, with the price, taxes, and shipping all calculated once an order has been placed.
