Kawasaki spices up Z900RS range for 2026
Kawasaki has taken the covers off its all-new Z900RS range for 2026, with engine, chassis and electronic tweaks made.

Kawasaki has revealed its new Z900RS range for 2026, with the standard model once again featured alongside the higher-spec SE version.
Over the last few months, Kawasaki has revealed several model updates, mainly to do with colours for 2026. And that’s continued to a degree with the new Z900RS range, although the standard model and its Z900RS SE sibling have received a lot more than just new paint jobs.
That’s because both models are getting a series of updates to the bike’s engine, chassis and electronics, which Kawasaki says “elevates the RS theme to the next level while not taking its famous roots for granted”.

Breathing life into the Z900RS is the same 948cc inline-four powerplant that was housed by the 2025 model. However, both the Z900RS and SE models now make slightly more power than their predecessors. The 2026 models produce a claimed 113.9bhp at 9,300rpm, rather than the 109bhp at 8,500rpm from before. Torque has also increased with the new models producing 72 Ib-ft of torque, instead of 70 Ib-ft
In terms of electronics, the new Z900RS range now features Electronic Throttle Valves (ETV), Electronic cruise control and an IMU-equipped rider support technology package. Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF) and an up-down Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) complete the extensive electronic update.

A new megaphone-style muffler has been fitted to both models, as have reshaped exhaust header pipes. Suspension between the two differs, with the premium-spec SE model getting a S46 Öhlins rear shock. Both models get 41mm inverted forks with compression and rebound damping and spring preload adjustability.
The SE variant also gets Brembo brakes, with dual 300mm discs gripped by four-piston calipers. At the rear is a 250mm disc and single-piston caliper set-up.
The Z900RS will be available from January in two colours which are Candy Tone Red and a Black Ball edition. The SE version will be available in a Metallic Spark Black option. Pricing is yet to be confirmed for both models.
In Japan, Kawasaki has gone one step further by introducing a new cafe racer variant, which, sadly, is not available to us in the UK, at least not yet.
