Two Wheels for Life sets new record at Silverstone with over £200,000 raised for charity
Two Wheels for Life set a new record total at Silverstone last weekend, after raising €234,000 for supported charities in The Gambia, Nigeria, Lesotho, and Malawi.
Two Wheels for Life raised €234,000 (around £200,000) for charity at the British MotoGP last weekend, with €122,000 (roughly £105,000) coming directly from auctions.
The funds were raised in support of the charity’s programmes in The Gambia, Nigeria, Lesotho, and Malawi, which provide vital transportation for healthcare services to remote and underprivileged communities.
Two Wheels for Life hosted a series of events from Thursday, August 6, to Sunday, August 9, including auctions and the new Silverstone Challenge. The latter saw over 150 fans make donations to ride the MotoGP simulator, with a grid experience for two included as a prize for Sunday’s Grand Prix.
The MotoGP grid experience went the way of 16-year-old Kacper Dubanowski, after setting a best time of 1.55:699. This took place on Friday, the same day that saw ten fans participate in a unique pillion ride around the Silverstone circuit aboard Ducati MotoEX2 machines, which were piloted by Ducati test rider, Franco Battaini and former Grand Prix racer Fonsi Nieto.
The GP of Champions’ MotoGP Experience Day, which kicked things off on Thursday, proved to be a major success as the event was sold out with 750 guests attending.
On Saturday, there were appearances made by MotoGP riders Jack Miller, Toprak Razgatlıoglu, Pedro Acosta, Brad Binder, Jorge Martin, Joan Mir, Luca Marini, Franco Morbidelli, and Fabio Quartararo, as part of an auction hosted by Michael Hill.
Some of the top prizes included a set of replica Barry Sheene leathers from Dainese, which sold for €3.6k (around £3k), and a signed Alex Marquez replica helmet and boots, both of which sold for more than £3.4k. The top prize proved to be the Valencia MotoGP experience for the final race of the season, which sold for €8.4k (roughly £7.7k).
Two Wheels Co-Founder and CEO Andrea Coleman said this about the 2026 event at Silverstone:
