James Bond, Mission: Impossible stunt rider reveals favourite Kawasaki bike to use

Veteran stunt performer Rick English has revealed his “go-to” motorcycle to use for stunt scenes, as well as his favourite type of movie stunt to perform, which may surprise you. 

English is one of the UK’s biggest names when it comes to the stunt world, which has seen him perform major stunts in numerous blockbuster films.

English, who has over 27 years of experience in the industry, has delivered stunts in James Bond, Mission: Impossible and Jason Bourne movies. He has also ridden Batman’s iconic Batcycle, while he recently worked alongside Jason Momoa on the 2026 film, Supergirl. 

Below is a social media post from when English was spotted filming a scene in The Flash movie a few years ago. 

This has led English to ride, but also drive, some of the most iconic motorcycles and cars seen in Hollywood movies over the years, but when speaking to Kawasaki UK, English went on to discuss which type of stunt scene is his favourite, revealing a particularly surprising answer.

English said:  

"I do a lot of car stunt driving as well, and getting behind the wheel of the Batmobile has definitely been one of the highlights. In the latest Batman film, I was also responsible for one of the big jumps through the flames, which was incredible to be part of.

“But if you ask me what I enjoy the most, it's still bike crashes. They're challenging, technical and there's a real art to making them look spectacular while keeping everyone safe. Alongside the bike work, I also perform plenty of general stunts, so every project brings something different."

Many of the motorcycle stunts performed by English have seen him riding a Kawasaki motorcycle, with the professional stunt performer using Team Green’s machinery for around 20 years. 

However, his favourite model to use is the ZX-6R, which he upgraded last year. While the 2025 model has been a good fit for English, he admits he still needed to make several modifications first, including the addition of crash protection and a rear handbrake.

Speaking about his relationship with Kawasaki machinery, English added: 

"I've been using Kawasaki stunt bikes for around 20 years now, and the Ninja ZX-6R has always been my go-to platform. Last year I upgraded to the latest 2025 model, and it's been fantastic. The engine is perfect straight out of the crate, but for stunt work I do have to make a few modifications. Some of the electronic rider aids need to be switched off so I can wheelie, perform burnouts and carry out some of the more technical stunt riding.

“I also fit additional crash protection, a rear handbrake and a few other specialist parts, but apart from that the bike stays remarkably standard. Kawasaki has done such a great job with the chassis and handling that there really isn't much else to change."
