LiveWire is looking to inject some excitement into the electric bike sector at EICMA, as its S2 Alpinista Corsa concept takes centre stage.

The bike is, as the name suggests, based on its existing S2 Aplinista platform, which is already the sportiest in the S2 range. Alongside the Alpinista, we have the Del Mar, which is a flat track style naked, and the Mulholland, which has a more laidback cruiser, almost cruiser style to it.

Building on the existing bike, LiveWire has chucked a truckload of trick parts at the new model, including Ohlins suspension, clip-on bars, BST Twin Tek wheels, billet triple clamps, billet rear sets and lots of carbon fibre. It’s also topped off with an eye-melting, shocking pink and yellow colour scheme with contrasting ‘LIVEWIRE’ graphics on the seat unit.

And while all of that seems jolly exciting, when I’ve got my sceptical hat on, I’m thinking it's unlikely that any of the juicy stuff will make it to production. The reason is that this Alpinista’s real party trick is its 10kWh pack that can be charged from 20 to 80 per cent in under 10 minutes thanks to DC fast charging. All the other trinkets and jewellery are likely just there to get people to say “cor blimey, ent' that a nice piece of kit?” when they see it on social media.

Alongside the Corsa, LiveWire will also be debuting the Patrol, which, as the name suggests, is aimed at the highly lucrative law enforcement segment.

We’ll be on hand at EICMA to bring you any more news on the new models as soon as it happens.
