Updated Shoei J.O2 Jet Motorcycle Helmet Launched

Nearly a decade after the inception of the open-face J.O, Shoei has officially brought out its latest evolution with the J.O2 helmet.

The J.O helmet, first launched in 2015, is known for its neo-classic, minimalist design, but despite the brand’s latest evolution of the helmet, Shoei has stuck by its simplistic look with the all-new Shoei J.O2, which meets ECE 22.06 safety standards.

“An evolution that respects its iconic design but now offers enhanced safety, versatility, and refined design details,” is what Shoei has officially said about its latest-generation J.O2 helmet, which has received a few key updates.

One of those centres around its three rivets (metal pins) above the rider’s eyeline, which the helmet maker claims was one of the most requested features for the new lid. It also claims that the new system will allow for better attachment of a peak or bubble visor.

The new J.O2 receives Shoei’s own CJ-4 retractable visor system which can be tucked away to create a more open-face look, but it can also be used quickly if the rider wants to drop it down to fight off wind and glare.

Shoei is currently offering six lens options including clear, dark tint, HD yellow, Spectra Gold,

Spectra Silver, and a photochromatic option, which changes tint depending on light conditions. In terms of tech, the J.O2’s shell utilises Shoei’s AIM (Advanced Integrated Matrix) construction to generate its strength.

Fully certified to ECE 22.06 standards, the helmet is available in four shell sizes and is complemented by a multi-density EPS liner and a traditional double D-ring fastening system. The J.O2 features a fully removable, washable interior made from premium polyurethane foam and ultra-soft fabric, which for us UK riders currently impacted by the ongoing heat waves, is sure to be welcomed.

To reduce glare but enhance durability, the helmet features synthetic leather and features integrated eyeglass channels and optional fit pads to personalise fitment of the lid. For those wanting a perfect fit, Shoei also offers its PFS (Personalised Fitting System) at authorised dealers.

The J.O2 will be available from August 2025, with graphics launching in September. The SRP (Suggested Retail Price) starts from £349.99.
