Trackhouse Racing completes 2027 MotoGP line-up with Enea Bastianini

Trackhouse Racing has pinched Enea Bastianini away from Tech3 KTM on a two-year deal to replace Yamaha-bound Ai Ogura.

Seven-time MotoGP race winner Enea Bastianini will leave the Tech3 KTM team at the end of 2026, after signing a two-year deal with Trackhouse Racing.

The move means that Trackhouse has now completed its full line-up for the new 850cc era, with Bastianini joining Raul Fernandez.

It also means that the American-owned team is getting one of the most experienced riders on the grid, after Bastianini joined MotoGP in 2021.

While Bastianini was arguably the most talented rider left available, the team was forced into finding a new rider after Ai Ogura decided he would be moving to the factory Yamaha team alongside Jorge Martin.

In all likelihood, the team would have preferred to keep its current line-up which has blossomed so far this season. Ogura and Fernandez have both won races, while also becoming unlikely title contenders in the process.

However, should Aprilia be one of the strongest manufacturers again in 2027, then Bastianini could be a rider that offers similar potential to Ogura.

The last two seasons have been difficult for KTM in general, however, Bastianini has often been the second best RC16 rider behind the very talented Pedro Acosta, who is moving to Ducati next season.

Aside from the races he has not finished, Bastianini has recorded top ten results at every Grand Prix since round three of the season in Texas.

It was thought that Bastianini might be retained by Tech3 for 2027 given the team’s fallout with Maverick Vinales, however, it’s now become clear that a brand-new line-up is required for next year. Luca Marini could end up being one of those riders, while the team is also expected to sign one of the young talents from Moto2.

Speaking about his move to Trackhouse, Bastianini said:

“I am extremely excited to join the SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team for the next two MotoGP Championships. Starting from the test in Valencia this year, it is going to be a real new challenge for me as we are entering a new era with a new bike, new tires and new regulations. For this, I am happy to bring my experience and my fighting spirit to Trackhouse so that we can develop the new Aprilia RS-GP together. The team has grown a lot during 2026 and it has become a title contender – for sure I will do my best for us to stay on top.”
