Arai Announces Helmet Price Hike in Japan: UK Pricing Unaffected For Now

Arai is set to adjust the pricing of some of its helmets, with the Japanese brand citing rising material and labour costs as the main reasons.

Arai has confirmed it will be raising the retail price of its motorcycle helmets in Japan from September 1, 2025, blaming significant increases in raw material, labour, and energy costs.

The change will affect all two-wheeled helmet products, except the TX Strada (solid and graphic variants) and the RX-7X FIM Racing #2. Interior parts and helmet liners are also included in the revised pricing structure.

In a public statement, the Japanese manufacturer said it had worked hard to keep prices stable through “improving efficiency”, but that doing so had become “increasingly difficult” without compromising quality.

“It is truly regrettable, but to continue delivering the quality and protection riders expect from Arai, we must revise our prices. We remain committed to protecting as many riders’ heads as possible.”

As for what this means for UK customers, there’s no confirmed change yet, but a response from Arai’s UK office confirms we should know a little later this year.

“The brand teams are reviewing and planning the 2026 Arai range,” Arai’s UK spokesperson told Visordown. “They will be able to confirm pricing over the coming months once the range is finalised … We should have a better idea by late September 2025.”

Arai joins a growing list of manufacturers feeling the squeeze as production costs rise globally. It is worth noting, though, that as one of the world’s biggest and best-known helmet brands, a slight price increase will probably do little to dent the appeal of a brand-new Arai.
