Insta360 launches new flagship X6 camera with dedicated motorcycle set

Insta360’s all-new X6 camera could take your content-creating experience on two wheels to the next level.

The company’s new flagship camera arrives with plenty of updates, one of which is focused on how much light gets let through to the sensors, which is claimed to be more than any other X model ever. 

The new X6 makes use of custom dual Sony 1/1.1-inch square sensors that deliver full 360 imaging, as well as 33 per cent more sensor area than the X5, and around four times the light intake per frame, according to Insta360. However, the headline feature of the new X6 is its three-in-one camera system, allowing it to be used as a 360 camera, a subject-tracking flat camera, and a single-lens action cam. 

Where it gets interesting for motorcyclists is the new 2600mAh Xtreme Battery, which claims to be able to record 140 minutes of 8K30fps 360 video on a single charge. To give you an idea, that is 51 per cent longer than the X5. 

The new X6 can also fast charge from empty to 80 per cent in just 24 minutes, meaning if you run out of juice while riding, you won’t have to wait long before getting back on the road, provided you have the necessary charging equipment with you.  

Additionally, the new camera is compatible with over 100 accessories, says Insta360, while it also features a dedicated motorcycle set. This includes a holographic speed dashboard overlay, an auto-looping dashcam mode, and automatic license plate blur.

The X6 also features upgraded windproof 360 microphones, plus a new Hidden Engine Mic that has been tuned specifically for motorcycle riders. This filters out wind noise and instead isolates the engine sound.
