New Touratech Aventuro Gravel Carbon motorcycle helmet launched

Touratech’s Aventuro PRO Carbon and Travel Carbon helmets have now been joined by the all-new Gravel Carbon edition.

The adventure motorcycle equipment specialist says the helmet “combines state-of-the-art materials with a design concept tailored specifically to the demands of combined on- and off-road travels”. It also focuses on four main areas; weight, strength, comfort and functionality.

It wraps the first two together courtesy of its PRO Carbon technology, which is made from X-PRO Carbon to be exact. This means the helmet is constructed with carbon fibre composite that features a fibre content of over 60 per cent. 

The helmet’s weight comes in at just under 1,500 grams, which includes the visor and peak that’s found on the top of the lid. This makes the new helmet one of the lightest in its class, according to Touratech. 

The helmet is available for £640, and comes in three different shell sizes. Additionally, it is available in either a black or white colourway. In terms of safety, the new Gravel Carbon edition has gained compliance with both ECE 22.06 and DOT standards. 

One of the most impressive features of the new helmet is its Anti-Vibration EPS System. This function comprises a flexible rubber strip that is integrated between the shell’s EPS layers, which creates minimal movement within the helmet structure. 

Designed as an adventure helmet that’s suitable for both long and short trips, it can also be transformed into a motocross-style lid by removing the visor. For road use, the helmet can be tweaked by removing the inner shield. 

On the interior of the lid is a 3D mesh material used to promote air circulation, while an X-mart Dry fabric liner has also been fitted to offer a higher level of comfort during long rides. Finally, Touratech says that all padding inside the helmet can be fully removed and washed.
