The Italian exhaust manufacturer SC-Project has released its first aftermarket pipe for the new Ducati DesertX adventure motorcycle.
The Rally Raid Muffler has already been seen on the Yamaha Tenere 700, and now the new Ducati adventurer can now also be modified in the same way.
The Rally Raid Muffler will of course maintain the DesertX’s Euro5 standard, but there are, naturally, some performance benefits, too.
Most notably, SC-Project’s Rally Raid Muffler will add 1.5 horsepower, and 1.2Nm to the DesertX, as well as knocking off 1.5kg compared to the stock exhaust.
The drop in weight is thanks to the exclusive use of titanium in the Rally Raid Muffler’s construction, and its design is inspired by SC-Project’s experience in off-road competition.
“The Rally Raid muffler is the result of SC-Project experience during the most extreme off-road competitions,” the SC-Project product page for the Rally Raid Muffler reads.
Furthermore, SC-Project says “All the technical solutions applied on this product [have] been tested all over the world during very long distance trips in the most several conditions, both on road and especially off road use.”
The Rally Raid Muffler is a part of SC-Project’s slip-on range, making it something of a ‘plug-and-play’ silencer. Additionally, it can be used in combination with SC-Project’s racing de-cat link for competition use.
SC-Project require €484 for the Rally Raid Muffler. For UK buyers, that will be combined with a €12.30 shipping fee for a total price of €496.30, or around £415. If you are looking to add the racing de-cat, that will add another €395, or around £330 including shipping.
