It might not look like any motorcycle concept that’s come before it, but don’t be fooled, this Cellcius C-01 E-Hypersport motorcycle is not just for show.

What sets the Cellcius C-01 apart from all other electric motorcycle concepts that have come before it is the battery layout, which includes eight swappable cells.

These are the four attachments that can be found on each side of the motorcycle’s main body.

At the time of this writing, the Clandestine Design Group, which is behind the E-Hypersport concept, has not yet confirmed whether the motorcycle is heading for production, or what the bike’s price will be.

Instead of having one battery pack like conventional electric bikes, the cells represent a more unique approach.

Each cell produces three kWh, giving the bike a total of 24 kWh, while the idea behind it is to allow the rider the choice of how many to carry when riding.

The more cells used will therefore result in more power and performance, and according to reports, the full weight of the bike with all eight cells installed is 220kg.

Another theory behind this concept is to make the bike lighter than if it was using a traditional single battery unit, which adds weight, although it does tend to bring more range.

The new concept is designed for anyone with easy access to charging sockets from home, as its charging system does not require the need for a garage. People renting apartments can just as easily charge the individual cells from a regular wall socket, while also transporting them in a backpack to places like coffee shops.

Although it remains a concept motorcycle at this stage, the Cellcius C-01 has already picked up a major award, winning the 2026 Australian Good Design Award in the Concept Design category.
