Kawasaki’s four-legged Corleo robot set for public debut
Kawasaki says its new Corleo robot vehicle is set to play a starring role at next month’s EICMA show in Milan, Italy.

As well as new motorcycle platforms and updates to existing models, the Kawasaki stand at EICMA will feature the highly-anticipated Corleo robot vehicle.
Kawasaki will exhibit a full-scale mock-up of the four-legged robot machine, which has already been earmarked for production.
The hydrogen-powered vehicle is part of a wider push from Kawasaki to promote the personal mobility space outside of traditional powered two wheelers.
Corleo combines off-road performance forged from its four-legged robotics platform with the same development principles used as part of Kawasaki’s motorcycle division.

Like riding a horse or a motorcycle, the Corleo is a vehicle you sit on and steer by shifting your body weight.
Alongside the standard Corleo vehicle, Kawasaki will also develop a model-specific navigation system that detects weather, temperature, surface conditions, and even the presence of wildlife.
The service will be available on Corleo’s instrument panel as well as through various smart devices.
Managing Director of Kawasaki Motors Europe, Mr Shigemi Tanaka, commented:
“Kawasaki is at the forefront of many fields of endeavour and research. Corleo is one example not only of our unique company-wide depth of technical, industrial and environmental experience, but also of our drive towards a carbon-neutral future – one that embraces personal freedom through the Safe Adventure concept. We thank our colleagues from Kawasaki Motors Italy, who are hosting the booth and have made this display at EICMA possible. We hope that, along with viewing all our new 2027 and current motorcycle models, visitors will be as fascinated and energised by Corleo as we are.”

The Corleo project is headed by Kawasaki’s Safe Adventure Business Development Team, which reports directly to the President of Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Full commercialisation is targeted for around 2035, according to Team Green.
