Sena’s new 50R Lite Louis intercom offers huge range and low price
A new Sena 50R Lite Louis intercom system has been released, which can pair up to 24 riders with a max range of 2000 metres.

Sena, one of the intercommunication system leaders alongside the likes of Cardo, has revealed a special 50R Lite Louis edition, which features a long list of impressive features.
For starters, the new system, which is a result of Sena partnering with online motorcycle equipment distributor, Louis Moto, delivers up to 2,000 metres (1.2 miles) of range, and can pair a maximum of 24 riders.
Based on the 50R intercom, the new Louis Edition takes the same design cues with its three buttons on the front, which are said to be operable with gloves on. However, the 50R Lite Louis Edition also uses its own software, which has been designed specifically for this model.
The intercom system is based on Mesh 3.0 technology that offers smooth communication between riders and its Wave Intercom, which enables you to switch to your mobile network without being limited by distance with fellow riders.
The switch between the Mesh and Wave systems is done automatically as soon as the signal is within range. Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity is also part of the setup, and it offers connection to smartphones to receive notifications, make calls, follow GPS navigation or listen to music. The Bluetooth system offers simultaneous communication with up to four riders at once.

In terms of its battery, the 50R Lite Louis Edition provides up to 13 hours of talk time when using Bluetooth, eight hours in Mesh mode, and 10 days when left on standby.
If you’re out on a ride and the battery goes dead, then all you need to do is charge it for 20 minutes to get around three hours of operating time. That speedy turnaround is all part of the new quick-charging function.
The new intercom comprises a universal mounting option with a clamp and/or adhesive holder, while its interchangeable cable and gooseneck microphone allow the Louis Edition to be used with almost any helmet, including jet, flip-up or full-face lids.
In terms of the price, the new system is currently offered at Louis Moto for £172, which is down from its RRP of £258. That makes it slightly cheaper than the standard 50R model, which costs £223 at the moment - down from £293.
