New 800cc Husqvarna in the pipeline

Motard and dual-sports machines expected from German-owned manufacturer

HUSQVARNA are planning to introduce a series of new machines in the near future, using BMW's parallel-twin 800cc engine.

Reports from this years Cologne Motorcycle Show say the company, bought out by BMW in 2007, will develop on and off-road machines using a variation of the same engine found in BMW's F800 series.

Expect a supermotard version, pictured above, along with a dual-purpose bike, aimed at rivalling Triumph's new Tiger XC.

The company also unveiled two new smaller-engined off-roaders at this year's Cologne Show.
