Homologation details of Excelle's customer 450 rally bike revealed

Leaks out of China confirm a customer 450 rally bike from Excelle.

COLOVE has been making their 450 Rally bike for a few years, but now they are set to make a derivative version for customer use.

Colove and Excelle are essentially the same thing. They are also known as Kove. They have been making their 450 Rally for a while, but are now looking to make it available commercially, with homologation information being leaked from the Chinese Ministry of Technology, according to Motorrad.

The bike reportedly produces 52 horsepower from its 449cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor. With a dry weight of 155kg, that is enough to reach a top speed of around 170kph, or 105mph.

While the frame will be steel, the swingarm will be aluminium, with 21-inch and 18-inch wheels at the front and rear, respectively, with 90/90 and 140/80 tyres, respectively, on each of those.

The bike is said to be called the ZF 450 LS Rally, and with those kind of specs will be similar to the factory Colove Rally 450. If the paint remains true to that of the Colove, then, as Motorrad note, there will be an obvious visual similarity with KTM, whose production rally bike weighs in at 10kg less than the Excelle.

The factory Colove bike is suspended by KYB, and stopped by 288mm front and 240mm rear Nissin discs, so perhaps we can expect the same on the Excelle commercial version.

But, ultimately, for more details- such as the price and launch date - than are available from the homologation documents we are going to have to wait until official information is published by Excelle on the ZF 450 LS Rally.
