2021 Aprilia Tuono 660 spotted testing on the road

The much-talked-about Aprilia Tuono 660 has been spotted in the wild, and we cannot wait to have a go!

Aprilia Tuono 660

SINCE the announcement of the RS660 sports bike in 2019, some circles of the motorcycle fraternity have been eagerly awaiting its naked (or maybe semi-naked) sibling.

And it didn’t take Aprilia long to quench our thirst for the light-weight naked sportster, officially releasing images of the machine earlier this year.

Indeed, we managed to grab some of Aprilia’s top-brass for a coffee once the press-ride of the RS660 had finished, with it being confirmed then that the bike was nearing the end of development.

That time-line looks to have been bang on schedule, as the bike has been spotted out on Italian roads undergoing some testing prior to going on sale next year.

If the Tuono is exciting enough, Aprilia is also rumoured to be bringing a higher-spec version of the RS660 to market too. It’s nothing that has been officially confirmed by the Noale factory, although the fairly budget hardware found on the current RS660 definitely leaves the door open for a more exotically-spec’d machine.

How the 2021 Aprilia Tuono 660 is expected to look

The new range of 660 bikes isn’t set to end with the Tuono either, with the incoming Tuareg adventure machine hopefully joining the party this year. And we’ve not even mentioned the smaller 400cc machines that are being rumoured to be in development at the factory, with 400cc versions of each of the machine possibly incoming too.

If one thing is for sure, if you’re a fan of Aprilia's motorcycles, there has probably never been a better time to be alive!
