MTR S-4 helmet lands in the UK for under £50
A new full-face lid has arrived from MTR, promising comfort and safety for less than a tank of fuel in a GS Adventure!

If you’ve been holding off on buying a new lid because of spiralling costs, MTR has just dropped something that might make you rethink. The S-4 full face helmet is now available, and the headline-grabber here is the price tag; just £46.74.
Yes, a brand-new ECE 22.06 approved helmet for less than fifty quid.
At the heart of the S-4 is an Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) outer shell, engineered to deliver impact resistance. It meets the latest ECE 22.06 standards, which means it has been tested to the same safety requirements as lids costing four or five times as much. Inside, a multi-density EPS liner takes care of absorbing energy in a crash, while a ratchet closure keeps everything on your bonce.

The S-4 tips the scales at 1,400 grams, not the lightest helmet in the world, but still respectable at this price point. It has a removable, washable interior made from moisture-wicking materials, so sweaty summer rides don’t leave you with a permanently soggy liner. Ventilation channels across the chin, crown and rear help keep air moving, while the aerodynamic profile is designed to cut down on noise and drag.

The visor is anti-scratch, Pinlock-ready, and features a quick-release mechanism, handy if you want to swap it out. A drop-down sun visor is also included, operated via a discreet lever on the side of the shell, meaning you don’t need to juggle sunglasses or carry a second visor for brighter conditions.
In terms of looks, riders get three simple colour choices, gloss black, matt black, or gloss white. It’s not going to turn heads like a £700 race lid, but for everyday riding or as a second helmet, the styling is neat and functional.
The MTR S-4 is available now exclusively from Louis Moto’s UK website. With free UK delivery on orders over £199 and customs charges covered, the buying process is made as painless as possible. For under fifty quid, it’s hard to argue against.
