Crash Media Group is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable motorcycle journalist to join its Visordown.com brand.
Visordown is one of the most read and comprehensive online motorcycle websites in the world, bringing the biggest and best two-wheel content to a global community of enthusiasts.
The new role involves producing high quality content directly to or in conjunction with our multiple platforms, including website, social media and video channels.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day content management of the Visordown.com website through regular news articles and features
- Delivering high quality content across a range of motorcycle-related topics to drive traffic to the website
- Contributing to the management of content through Visordown's social media channels to drive engagement
- Working with Visordown editor to devise and fulfil content plans
- Represent the company on launches and other professional events
- Testing and reviewing motorcycle protective equipment, clothing, helmets and technology
- Running long and short term press loan bikes for reviews, features and road tests both on and off-road
- Assisting with the creation of video from road tests for site and social – capturing video content and photography – full training provided
- Work with Social Media Manager & Content Team to build a content strategy for the brand across all platforms
- Work with Video Editor and Digital Designer to create engaging, high-quality video content
Key Skills/Experience
- Essential
- In-depth knowledge of motorcycling and the motorcycle industry
- Exemplary spelling and grammar
- A working knowledge of social media channels (YouTube, Facebook & Instagram etc.)
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A creative thinker.
- Able to work as part of a team, as well as on your own initiative
- Flexible and enthusiastic with the ability to work well under pressure
- Full motorcycle licence and a confidence to represent the brand professionally on events that involve riding a motorcycle
Desirable
- Degree in journalism
- Experience working in a role that involves regular writing, ideally motorcycle industry related
The position is based in our office in Farringdon, London reporting to the Editor of Visordown.com. Basic salary up to 30k + bonus, health insurance, laptop & pension.
