CFMOTO is expanding its European two-wheel line-up beyond motorcycles with the introduction of the new 125SC-S, a sporty-looking 125cc scooter aimed at urban and suburban commuters.

The new model marks the Chinese manufacturer's debut in the European scooter market and has been developed around everyday practicality, with a focus on accessible performance, safety equipment and connectivity.

Power comes from an all-new, in-house-developed 125cc liquid-cooled, four-valve single-cylinder engine. The company has yet to publish detailed performance figures, but says the unit has been designed to deliver smooth, responsive power alongside efficient operation in everyday riding conditions.

Styling is a little more aggressive than some traditional commuter scooters, with sharp bodywork and distinctive twin-lens LED headlights giving the 125SC-S a sporty appearance. Its 780mm seat height should also make it accessible to a broad range of riders.

Safety equipment includes dual-channel ABS and traction control, alongside high-intensity LED lighting and an Emergency Stop Signal system, which activates the brake lights under heavy braking to alert following traffic.

There are two equipment levels, with the higher-specification version gaining gas-reservoir rear shock absorbers and heated grips. These additions should make the scooter more comfortable when dealing with poor road surfaces and colder weather.

Practicality is another area CFMOTO has focused on, with 30 litres of under-seat storage providing enough room for a full-face helmet and an additional half helmet.

There are also two enclosed front gloveboxes and USB charging for keeping devices powered while on the move.

The cockpit features a 6.2-inch TFT display, while Bluetooth and NFC keyless access add further convenience. Connected functions and over-the-air software updates are also included in the technology package.

The 125SC-S represents a new direction for CFMOTO in Europe, bringing the brand into a busy 125cc scooter market where established manufacturers already have a strong presence. Pricing, UK availability and full technical specifications have yet to be confirmed.
