Yamaha is set to give the people what they want, quite literally, after the new Ténéré 4 Concept was revealed on the eve of the EICMA show in Milan, Italy.

According to Yamaha, the new concept has been driven by customer demand, and it is set for production as a lightweight A2-compliant model.

But more importantly, this marks a huge step closer to Yamaha offering customers a more accessible entry point into the world of adventure riding, with its range currently dominated by the different Ténéré 7 bikes.

The new Ténéré 4 Concept was showcased as part of an official ceremony alongside the all-new RW700, RW700 Explore and RW350.

The Ténéré 4 Concept was unveiled by President of Yamaha Motor Europe, Olivier Prevost, who was joined on stage by off-road racers Pol Tarres and Kevin Galles.

Yamaha has yet to confirm when the Ténéré 4 will move from being a concept model to a production-ready motorcycle.

What we do know is that the new Ténéré 4 Concept is instantly recognisable as part of the Ténéré family thanks to its flat, low fuel-tank silhouette and narrow profile.

It clearly pays homage to Yamaha’s rally roots, while also combining functional technology with robust engineering and a purposeful design, which has, unsurprisingly, been developed from Yamaha’s Adventure experience with the Ténéré 700.

The Ténéré 4 Concept was presented with KYB suspension both front and rear, while its 21/18-inch spoked wheels were fitted with Michelin Anakee Wild tyres. Completing the look was a titanium Akrapovič exhaust.

With a heavy focus on rider-led ergonomics, the Ténéré 4 Concept aims to deliver the “agility and accessibility expected from a new-generation Adventure motorcycle, while staying true to the decades long history of Yamaha’s Adventure segment”, says the Japanese brand.
