Zero Motorcycles has unveiled a new lightweight electric motorcycle at EICMA 2026, with its Project Ventura concept taking inspiration from the supermoto category and targeting riders looking for an accessible route into electric motorcycling.

The new machine is one of several announcements from the American manufacturer as it celebrates its 20th anniversary, with the LS3 electric scooter also making its European debut and updates announced for the XE off-road model.

However, Project Ventura is arguably the most interesting of the new arrivals, particularly given its projected price of less than £8,000.

That puts it below the cost of many conventional middleweight motorcycles, although Zero has yet to confirm its final specifications or pricing.

The Ventura uses a new electric powertrain, which is claimed to produce more than 20kW (26.8bhp) of peak power, with a sustained top speed of 105km/h (65mph) and a maximum of 130km/h (80mph).

Zero is targeting a real-world range of around 150km (93 miles), although battery capacity and charging times have yet to be announced.

As its styling suggests, the Ventura is designed around an accessible, upright riding position and a lightweight, agile chassis. It gets 17-inch wheels wearing road-focused tyres, ABS as standard and has been engineered to accommodate two riders.

An onboard Level 2 charger is also included, allowing the motorcycle to be plugged into compatible public charging points.

Zero says the Ventura will be suitable for A1 licence holders in Europe, making it an option for younger riders as well as those looking to move into electric motorcycling.

The company says the project has been developed with three priorities in mind: distinctive styling, an approachable riding experience for people familiar with electric bikes and e-motos, and a focus on making the finished motorcycle enjoyable to ride.

Zero has stated that the new bike will be ready to ride by Summer 2027.
