Garmin has unveiled its latest motorcycle sat nav, the zūmo XT3, adding live lean angle data and expanded mapping to a package aimed squarely at riders who split their time between road, trail and even the race track.

The new device replaces the outgoing XT line at the top of Garmin’s bike-specific range and will be offered in two sizes, with either a 4.7-inch or 6-inch high-resolution touchscreen. Both displays are glove-friendly and designed to remain readable in bright conditions, while the unit itself is built to cope with handlebar vibration, poor weather and the kind of knocks and bumps that come with life on an adventure bike. Garmin says the XT3 meets MIL-STD-810 drop-test standards and carries an IPX7 water-resistance rating.

The headline addition is a live lean angle gauge, allowing riders to see in real time how far the bike is tipped into a corner, While it’s probably not the best idea to glance at that while clipping an apex, it should at least help to settle some arguments when in the pub post-ride. The device can also record G-force, maximum speed and other ride data, with post-ride summaries available through the Tread smartphone app, where routes and statistics can be reviewed and shared.

Mapping is central to the XT3’s appeal. Street maps and high-definition topographic maps come preloaded, and users can download satellite imagery directly to the device. An optional Outdoor Maps+ subscription unlocks additional premium content, including Adventure Roads and Trails with turn-by-turn routing for off-road use. Garmin’s Adventurous Routing is also present, highlighting more demanding and technical roads, alongside Great Rides and Popular Moto Paths, which are user-generated by other zūmo users.

Route planning can be done on the device itself or via the Tread app, with support for GPX, KML and KMZ file imports. Group tracking is available through the mobile feature, enabling riders to monitor friends on compatible smartphones.

The XT3 can also integrate with other Garmin hardware, including the zumo R1 radar for rear and blind-spot monitoring, a handlebar controller for safer input on the move, and an inReach satellite communicator for off-grid messaging and SOS functionality.

For riders who take their bikes to the track, Garmin is offering a Performance Package subscription. This adds lap timing and drag racing metrics such as 0–60mph, 1/8-mile and 1/4-mile times, with data viewable on the device or via the Garmin Catalyst app. The package costs £9.99 per month or £99.99 annually.

The zūmo XT3 goes on sale from February 20, 2026. The 4.7-inch version is priced at £429.99, while the 6-inch model, supplied with a handlebar mount kit and U-bolt base, comes in at £519.99. More information can be found on the official website.
