Dean Harrison has been confirmed for the 2025 Goodwood Revival race later this month, where he will ride a classic 1967 Hansen Honda CR450.

The bike Harrison will race in the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy is not your average classic bike, instead it’s a special Hansen CR450 replica which is based on the model that was raced at the Daytona 200.

This particular CR450 is owned and prepared by former Honda UK Motorcycles National Sales Manager Chris Barfe, who forms the second half of this two-man team. Barfe is a regular racer when it comes to the classic motorcycle paddocks, and has made multiple appearances at the Revival in the past.

The Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy will consist of one practice session on Friday, September 12, with a 30-minute session before riders tackle two 25-minute races. The first of those will take place on Saturday 13, and the other on Sunday 14 around the 2.3-mile Goodwood Motor Circuit. Both races will be aggregated to determine the overall winners.

Harrison, a two-time Isle of Man TT race winner in 2025 in the Superstock class, will have his classic machine prepped throughout the three-day event by former Honda Technician of the Year, Ron Roebury.

Speaking ahead of the event, Harrison said:

“The Revival is always such a good race to go to - it’s such a unique event and the atmosphere is always amazing. There’s such a variety of classic bikes in the races, so you never really know what’s going to happen; all you know is that once everyone’s visor goes down, they will all be giving it a proper go! I’ve not been to Goodwood for a few years, so I’m looking forward to teaming up with Chris and having a rip around on the little classic Honda.”

After meeting Harrison for the first time earlier this year, Barfe says it’s a privilege to line-up alongside the full-time racer. He added:

“I was introduced to Dean at a CJ Ball dealer event earlier in the year, ahead of Snetterton BSB, and I approached him about teaming up for Goodwood Revival. He is obviously an extremely gifted rider, but he also has a great deal of mechanical sympathy, so I knew he would be a good fit for racing a classic bike and luckily we also both race with road-shift too. What he has achieved this year for Honda, particularly the two victories at the TT, has been nothing short of remarkable and it is going to be such a privilege to race with him this weekend. I can’t wait to get stuck into the spirit of the event and have a crack at these races with a 2025 TT-winning teammate!”
