Caberg GP01: Carbon Lid Lands With ECE 22.06 and NFC Technology
The official spec and details of the Carberg GP01 have landed ahead of its UK launch - here’s what you need to know

Caberg has launched its most race-focused motorcycle helmet yet, the GP01, and it’s arrived with a serious stamp of approval in the form of ECE 22.06 and FIM Level 2 certification. That makes it track-legal at the highest level of racing while still being a solid option for the road.
For those unfamiliar, FIM Level 2 is the gold standard for helmets used in top-tier racing, such as MotoGP, World Superbike and the EWC. Combined with the latest ECE 22.06 approval, this puts the GP01 in rarefied air - a carbon fibre helmet that’s equally at home on the track or, thanks to its features such as intercom compatibility, on the road.

Lightweight Carbon Shell with Racing Intent
Built around a compact carbon shell, the GP01 keeps weight to a minimum, tipping the scales at just 1350g (+/- 50g) depending on size (XS to L). That low mass pays off in long-distance comfort and reduced fatigue on track days. Aerodynamics haven’t been left to chance either: Caberg put the GP01 through extensive wind tunnel testing, and the result is a shell shape that slices through the air with minimal drag and maximum stability.
There’s a large rear spoiler and multiple intake/exhaust vents - two chin vents, two shell vents, and four rear extractors - all working to maintain a steady airflow and keep things cool when you're tucked in and chasing apexes. Even the internal channelling contributes to keeping the microclimate inside comfortable on longer stints.

Comfort Where It Counts
Inside, the GP01 is fitted with breathable, hypoallergenic linings that are removable and washable. As you'd expect at this level, it features emergency quick-release cheek pads and channels designed for easy glasses insertion - a big win for specs wearers.
The closure is handled by an aluminium double D-ring, and the padding has been shaped to avoid pressure points, even during hours in the saddle. Caberg’s attention to detail also shows in the interior ergonomics, which are designed to work seamlessly with an optional comms system.
Visor System: Ready for the Track
The GP01 comes equipped with a clear visor and a dark smoke visor in the box, both fitted with tear-off pins. A Pinlock Max Vision 120 insert is also included to eliminate fogging in the worst conditions. Visor changes should be fast and easy, thanks to a secure locking mechanism that stays solid at speed.
Smart Safety with Caberg NFC SOS Medical ID
One of the most innovative features on the GP01 is the Caberg SOS Medical ID system. It uses Near-Field Communication NFC tech built into the helmet’s shell so that, in the event of a crash, first responders can tap their smartphone to access the rider’s medical info and emergency contacts instantly. It’s a clever bit of tech that could prove critical when seconds count, and also means a rider's loved ones can be updated on their condition and location as quickly as possible.
Comms-Ready Without Compromise

Even with its track credentials, Caberg hasn’t forgotten road riders, as the GP01 is fully compatible with the Caberg Pro Speak Evo communication system. It means Bluetooth connectivity for GPS, music, and rider-to-rider comms up to 200 metres. Crucially, the helmet has passed ECE 22.06 tests with the system installed, meaning there’s no trade-off in safety.

Pricing and Availability
Regardless of the region is lands in, each helmet ships with a customisable sticker kit, a clear visor with Pinlock insert, and a dark smoke visor for track use only, all included in the box. The pricing and arrival in the UK is, for now. Its price in the EU is €499.99 (around £420), and if that price tallys with the UK launch price, it should be a bit of a bargain compared to the FIM-spec competition.
