British Superbike Star's Cryptic Social Media Exit Message
British Superbike rider Danny Buchan has admitted he could exit the championship in 2025 if he fails to find a suitable ride

However, the last couple of years in particular have been truly underwhelming and the Kawasaki rider appears ready to call it quits if he can’t find a ride that will allow him to showcase his talents fully.
The former BMW rider, now riding for DAO Racing Kawasaki, is only 20th in the 2024 BSB standings and has not recorded more than ten points in a single race this year.
There’s not a single Kawasaki rider inside the top ten so it’s clear that the ZX-10RR is maybe not the bike to be on at present - Jason O’Halloran is the highest-placed Kawasaki rider in 11th, but Buchan has also not been in the best of form.
Taking to social media on Tuesday, Buchan admitted he feels as though there’s more he can achieve in British Superbikes, but that he won’t stay to make up the numbers.
His post on Instagram reads: “If it’s meant to be then it’s meant to be, I believe whole heartedly things happen for a reason and I believe in fate, deep down I don’t believe I’m done, I don’t see my story ending this way, I know I can still be competitive and be up the front but I’m an honest guy, I tell you guys what I tell Stef, my parents and my family.
“If it’s not competitive or not the right package I won’t race and I mean that. I don’t bullshit. I will not be on the grid making up numbers. I’m either in it to win and be competitive or I stop and I can live with that decision, a decision that would be made by me.
Thank you everyone who believes in me and thank you to people who don’t, I’m motivated either way, more motivated to prove people wrong though, which maybe isn’t a good thing. Let’s see what unfolds.”

Buchan’s clear about his intention to be aboard a competitive bike, but where are those seats currently? A return to BMW could make a lot of sense and with FHO Racing, while jumping onto an R1 would be a great move for the British rider. McAMS Yamaha would be a great place for Buchan to land, as OMG Racing has already confirmed its line-up.
