Tommy Bridewell Receives Another WSBK Call-Up at Jerez
Tommy Bridewell will take part in the World Superbike season-finale at Jerez, building on his return to the world stage at Cremona

After testing at Cremona as part of Team HRC’s efforts to improve its CBR1000RR-R Fireblade earlier this season, Bridewell then competed at the Italian venue thanks to a wildcard call-up with his current Honda Racing UK team.
Bridewell made his WSBK debut in 2019 but had not returned to the world stage until last weekend, where he secured a best finish of 18th in race one.
However, the ex-PBM Ducati rider will now get another crack at World Superbikes when the 12-round season concludes in Jerez, a weekend that’s more than likely going to be the title decider given the very small gap at the top of the standings between Toprak Razgatlioglu and Nicolo Bulega.
“I love racing motorbikes so to get to go and have another go is another great opportunity to go out and race my bike,” said Bridewell. “Jerez is a really good circuit too as it’s got a bit of everything, heavy braking with a slow first sector that then starts opening up and getting quicker and quicker.
“Going to Jerez for me is about continuing the work that we are doing, gathering information and doing the best that I can. I rode well at Cremona with the package that we were on and ultimately we will be a little bit better equipped with a slightly upgraded spec at Jerez. I want to go there and do as well as I can.”
One week before his second wildcard of 2024, Bridewell will either be crowned a two-time BSB champion or he will lose out to Ryde.
Speaking about his rider’s second WSBK opportunity of 2024, Honda Racing UK Team Manager, Havier Beltran, added: “Jerez presents another opportunity for us to compete on the world stage and follows a successful outing at Cremona, during which we were able to work closely with our HRC colleagues to further progress the Fireblade project.
“Ultimately all of our objectives were achieved and the data collected is extremely valuable. We are delighted to take the opportunity to go to Jerez and do the same once more.”
