If you’re planning to attend this year’s MCL26 event in Birmingham, then this all-new display of 12 classic motorcycles should be on your to-do list.

MCL26, in collaboration with The Moulsdale Foundation, will feature a carefully selected collection of 12 motorcycles ranging from the 1980s to the 2000s. Named ‘The Collection’, the new display is part of the event’s wider plans to introduce new activities to this year’s show, which takes place at the NEC from November 21-29.

If you're unfamiliar with The Moulsdale Foundation, it is a charitable foundation and collection company that’s based on the outskirts of Glasgow, which houses in excess of 400 motorcycles and 300 cars.

That number does ebb and flow, though, as private models and collections are regularly loaned for public viewings. With regards to the display that will be featured at the NEC, MCL arranged for Mike Armitage, Editor of Classic Bike, to select the top twelve motorcycles that will be in attendance.

This list will include a high-mileage Honda MBX80, as well as Kawasaki’s iconic GPZ750 Turbo. The GPZ750 is the smaller sibling of the GPZ900 motorcycle that was ridden by Tom Cruise in the original Top Gun movie.

The GPZ750 was produced by Kawasaki from late 1983 to 1985, with development starting in January 1981 as a turbocharged 650, before it eventually became a 750 model.

Other machines that will be featured include a Suzuki RG500, a Mike Hailwood Ducati replica, and a Foggy Petronas FP1. The latter was produced when former four-time WorldSBK champion Carl Fogarty headed up the new Foggy Petronas WorldSBK team, which competed in the series from 2002 to 2006.

We also know that there will be a special Yamaha R1 YART machine, as well as a Honda X-ADV 750 SE, although the final few bikes have been kept under wraps, for now.
