Jeremy McWilliams joins Indian Motorcycle in new role for IMR UK Rally

Indian Motorcycle’s upcoming IMR UK Rally is set to receive a sprinkling of racing royalty in the form of Jeremy McWilliams, with the former MotoGP racer set to attend as a guest of honour. 

When it comes to racing, McWilliams is as experienced with different championships and different machinery as they come.

The 62-year-old has previously competed in MotoGP, the British Superbike Championship, MotoAmerica’s King of the Baggers series, the North West 200, and in Moto2. The latter included a one-off appearance from McWilliams at the age of 50, when he competed as a wildcard at the British Grand Prix in 2014.

Despite his age, McWilliams has regularly taken part in major events over the last few years, including an appearance at this year’s North West 200. McWilliams has also held various roles outside of racing, including being a test rider for KTM.

In 2022, McWilliams joined the King of the Bagger series with the Indian Wrecking Crew team, where he raced an Indian Challenger motorcycle. 

McWilliams achieved multiple podiums and a historic win at the Daytona 200 during that season. He also competed in the Super Hooligans series aboard an Indian FTR race bike. 

But his latest adventure with the American company will be as a guest of honour at this week’s IMR UK Rally, which has been organised alongside Rideworx, otherwise known as Indian Motorcycle Reading.

Gina Evans, Marketing Manager for Indian Motorcycle UK, said this about having McWilliams as the guest of honour: 

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Jeremy McWilliams as our Guest of Honour. Jeremy is a fantastic ambassador for motorcycling and someone whose career and passion for two wheels resonate strongly with our riders. Having him join us for the IMR UK Rally will make this year’s event even more special.”

The event takes place on August 26-28 at the Brooklands Museum, with McWilliams set to share stories from his career, while also meeting riders and attendees throughout. 

There will be racing simulators for people to try out on Friday, while access to the Brooklands Motor Sheds, and guided Concorde tours will also be available. On Saturday, there will be a stunt show, a custom bike show, a King of the Baggers display, as well as wheelie machines for those of you feeling brave.
