The Chinese bike maker Benda is quietly preparing for a very busy EICMA show, with twelve new bikes and seven new off-road vehicles all set to be unveiled.

We don’t 100 per cent know exactly what those bikes will be, although we can tell you, based on already available information, a little bit more about some of the models.

Some teaser information from Benda states that it will present a “hybrid boxer-twin concept … that pairs a compact 250cc horizontally-opposed twin engine with a hybrid drive system”. With no other information to go by, we assume the bike will take the shape of the BD250-3B you can see below.

The patent images for that bike were uncovered a couple of months ago, showing it blending internal combustion and hybrid powertrains seamlessly in a modern retro package. Specs are yet to be released, although reports from China suggest an A2-friendly output of around 35bhp, although thanks to the hybrid powertrain, the torque could be much more impressive.

The six-cylinder engine Benda mentions is most likely the 1,700cc (according to reports) inline six that has internal dimensions that are close but not identical to those found in the BMW K1600 engine. The piston diameter is said to be the same as the Beemer motor, although the stroke is slightly longer by 1.5mm, resulting in the increase in displacement. While we don’t know what bike that engine is set to land in, it’s safe to assume that it’ll be a premium tourer of some variety.

Benda already has a V4 engine in its ranks, in the form of the Dark Flag 500 and Dark Flag 500 Commander. Both of those are retro-styled cruisers pumping out a claimed 47 bhp. The V4 engine the brand mentions, could be the European version of those machines.

The final nuggets of information relate to air suspension, an electronic clutch option and a CVT bike. The air suspension mentioned could be pointing to the European launch of the LFC700 Pro, the more trick version of the LFC700 we already get in the UK. The Pro variant is already available in some regions, which makes it easy to see how it could also be slotted into the UK and European ranges.

The CVT bike is likely the Chinchilla 350 CVT NEO, a modern retro cruiser with a twist and go transmission. The electronic clutch bike is possibly going to be the Graystone 707, which can be specced with an automated clutch similar to what is found on the Honda E-Clutch and Yamaha Y-AMT models.

There are just days to go before EICMA 2025 where all the new metal from Benda will be getting revealed. We’ll be there at the exhibition to bring you all the news as we have it.
