Alpinestars goes full space-age hipster with its latest collection

Alpinestars’ 2026 Contemporary Collection is for riders who want armour and to look cool while ordering their smashed avocado on toast.

Alpinestars has pulled the wraps off its latest line of gear, the 2026 Contemporary Collection, a range that blends city-ready streetwear looks with genuine on-bike protection.

There are options for men and women in the new range, with everything to keep them covered and protected from top to toe. We’ve had a dig along the rail to see what it's like.

What in the oat milk latte does Mo.ST.EQ. mean?

The Italian brand has been leaning heavily into its MO.ST.EQ. (Moto Streetwear Equipment) philosophy in recent years, and this latest update continues that theme—think urban styling, clever pocket configurations, and waterproofing, all backed up with proper motorcycle-grade protection. The idea is simple: kit that works on the bike, but doesn’t make you look like you’re heading for a trackday when you pop into town for a coffee.

The backbone of the collection is the Mospher and Moblast Waterproof Jackets, which pair up neatly with the new Moblast and Stella Moblast WP Gloves. Built with fused materials and robust construction, they’re designed to look like high-end urban outerwear but still bring abrasion resistance and weather protection to the table. In short, you can survive a rainstorm and still look like you’re heading to an art gallery afterwards.

Contemporary Classic

For those who like their kit with a nod to the past, Alpinestars is also offering the Axton and Women’s Idles Jackets. These draw inspiration from vintage race team wear but use modern protective materials to keep things safe and comfortable.

The Bryon WR Overshirt continues the retro theme, borrowing its cues from traditional workwear. Water-resistant waxed canvas, herringbone tape details, and a hidden-snap collar bring the heritage look, while stretch fabrics and protective inserts make it suitable for the ride. It’s the sort of overshirt that makes sense whether you’re fixing your bike, riding it, or just standing around pretending you know how carburettors work.

Tech Lifestyle

Cargo pants and leggings get a rework in this part of the collection. The FLEX-AST Cargo Pants take the classic multi-pocket design, add stretch fabrics, and integrate adjustable Level 1 knee armour. For women, the Stella FLEX-AST Leggings offer a skinny-fit, high-waist design with triple-stitched seams and accordion knees, again backed up with impact protection. They’re flexible enough for all-day wear, and won’t leave you doing the awkward “peeling off the leathers in the car park” dance at the end of your commute.

Footwear

Finally, the footwear. If you want something that looks like a street sneaker but can handle a rainy commute, the Stated Waterproof Shoes should fit the bill. For women, the Judy WP Boots offer a more combat-inspired style with waterproofing and ankle protection built in. Both are built for walking as well as riding, meaning you don’t have to shuffle into the office like you’ve just finished the Dakar Rally.

Alpinestars says the idea is to create gear that feels as comfortable and stylish off the bike as it does when you’re riding. The 2026 Contemporary Collection looks to be very much aimed at the growing crowd of urban riders who want kit that doesn’t scream “motorcycle jacket” the moment you take off your lid, and who definitely don’t want to admit how much their outfit was inspired by their trainers.
