Kawasaki gave the 05 6R everything but the kitchen sink with Radial calipers, Petal Discs, a slipper clutch and a change from Kayaba to Showa suspension improved the ride quality. Add perfect fuelling for a howling motor and its almost the prefect package.
Still commanding good prices. But you get what you pay for. An underrated motorbike.
For 2005 Kawasaki turned it down from 11, and in the process produced an almost perfect package.

Overall Review

A bike that has a bit more go then most 600's. It will keep up with bigger bikes longer than you'd expect. It is quite comfy and I have done 200 miles without any aches or pains.

Strengths

Good engine & mid range for a 600. Brakes work well and bike handles well.

Weaknesses

Mirrors are poor, but which sports bike has decent mirrors? Can get a bit flighty when pushed hard.

had no problems at all and new rider to class so on a learning curve but................................... still scared the bollocks off me!!! big on thrill factor. looks awesome, sound unbelievable, performs amazingly. but the mirrors are crap. comfy no arm chair but still good. real head turner!!

Strengths

power in the mid range and the power in general. sound wicked with after market can on it. brilliant build. defiantly recommend.

Weaknesses

bit twitchy when pushed but steering damper sorted that out. but it could be as twitchy as the rest never flat out on the others.

Overall Review

Excellent bike... people think im mad riding this bike every day to work... but this bike really can do commuting, track days, weekend blasts and touring. You wont be disappointed if you buy this bike and there normally cheaper than the Honda's and Yamaha's so grab yourself a bargain.

Strengths

Power power power...... no other 600 comes close... even my mates 2007 GSXR-750 could not beat it's top speed (He is 10kg heavier than me). I have done 31k miles on this bike and it's as comfortable as any other super sports bike, love the gel seat. Bike looks bigger than the other 600's making it look like a real bike. Get the Green one and be seen.. who needs high vis jkts!

Weaknesses

Does not cope with british winter well... but which bike does? Brake caliper gold paint was stripped off by salt roads.

Overall Review

Simply put I love my kwakka, I wouldnt suggest her as a first big bike as she is an animal but for anyone with a bit of exerience she is simply amazing!

Strengths

That engine is fantastic, fast, revvy and powerful (mines had work done and kicking out a genuine 122bhp at the rear) Its amazingly flickable I just look at an apex and im there! but I have learnt she likes to be man handled and is more rewarding the harder you push compared to other 600's The Noise when you open her up and hear the air rushing in that enormous ait intake! The looks! Surprisingly comfy for someone 6ft +

Weaknesses

Mine is a bit hard on the road but thats due to it being resprung for more track biased riding so cant complain about that. Shes far better than I am!

Overall Review

I bought this bike two years ago as it stood out in candy blue in the showroom, and it still does today! Always turns heads and gets comments. It has been 100% reliable and always starts first time, and is not bad on fuel, depending on your riding! It is comfortable enough to use daily for work and can be an amazing sports bike on a weekend hoon!! Very useable sports bike.

Strengths

Fast and quick, great handling very useable 600 (636!!) have had a cbr 600 and a zx9r amongst other bikes and this has been the best one yet. The zx9 caught me out a couple of times but the zx6 has never yet. I use it most days for the commute to work and I smile every time..... Highly recommend!!

Weaknesses

If I ride for long periods of time my left wrist aches (clutch use) but that's because it's so much fun going through the gears!! Also it's not brilliant for pillions........but I guess if you want a touring bike, that will take pillions, buy one!!

Overall Review

The best road 600 you can buy. save yourself 6 grand on a new one!

Strengths

a 600 thats as powerful as the 2012 600 model, great supple suspension, all the toys you'll need (slipper clutch, petal discs, radial brakes, shift light, lap timer) great track bike too! top whack of 160 (indicated 168) and so easy to ride fast. Never used or needed a steering damper, not used a race pipe either (make haste quietly!)good positive gearchange, no missing gears like a honda! removed the rear pegs, pillion pad and original footrests.

Weaknesses

looks are an aquired taste, and im always catching the (wide) tail section with my boot! RPM not the easiest to see, but i use the shift light on track.riding position is a little cramped, improves with rearsets. rubbish for pillions. needs a higher screen. the "matt" finish polishes smooth. Overall Review

So far, I've been trying to find the right bike for myself since passing my test at the age of 30 in 2010. I've only done about 6k miles on a bike in total so I am very much a novice. I've had a few bikes now including thundercat, Z750, ZX9R, XJR1300 and street triple R) and none of them really worked for me, either being too small or not quite fitting me right. Bought a C1H ZX6R on a recommendation and wow I am impressed! It actually fits me! Wasn't expecting that! Lovely bike, looks the business, always getting positive comments on looks. Inspires confidence, not too harsh, not too soft on the road, a doddle to ride slowly but you'll just want to hear that RAM air induction roar above 10k ROM :) Dirt cheap but look out for the ones with good history and be prepared to shell out a bit more for it, it will be worth it.

Strengths

Looks Space (I'm 6'1" and 100kg with gear) Light Fast and flickable Not to overwhelming for a novice like myself

Weaknesses

Mirrors! Pillion capability Could use braided lines
