Laser 4862 Motorcycle Flywheel Puller 10 piece Set review
The Laser 4662 Motorcycle Flywheel Puller 10-piece Set has all the bits you need to turn a sometimes tricky, off-putting job into an easy, straight-forward one.

Not all home motorcycle mechanics go as far as dismantling their bikes’ engines but there are plenty that do. Even then, some tasks require specialist tools, such as removing the flywheel from the end of the crankshaft. For that you need a ‘flywheel puller’ and this kit from Laser, which is available from Machine Mart, is brilliant as it not only has all the bits you require so fits virtually all bikes, it comes in its own dedicated, sturdy case and is great value, too.
It’s also received virtually universal five-star reviews from those that have bought it from Machine Mart.
The procedure is straightforward but as the flywheel rotates, you’ll also need a flywheel holding tool. Once held securely, use the correct socket or spanner to remove the flywheel retaining nut and also remove the washer. Then, to remove the flywheel itself, you need the correct size puller from the kit. This has a reverse thread and threads into the flywheel. Then simply use the correct spanner or socket to disengage the flywheel and ‘pop’ it off the crank.
The beauty of the Laser 10-piece kit is that it comprises five double-ended pullers, two single-ended pullers plus accompanying bolts in all the possible sizes and thread types required for nearly all motorcycles, making it a ‘one-stop shop’ for pulling flywheels over a lifetime of various bikes. It’s also sturdy, well-made and, at £65.99, impressive value.
But don’t just take our word for it. It’s also received glowing recommendations on the Machine Mart website with many of its reviewers awarding it 5/5 including:
Ian: “Good quality fits many makes and models, does the job at a fair price.”
And Dave: “Very comprehensive set so easy to use makes taking flywheels off a breeze.”
