Overall Review

Great as a First big Bike or everyday Workhorse

Strengths

Works realy well , the engine is keen as the revs rise but without any arm wrenching excelleration . Feels planted and stable easy to ride Great town bike or short distance commuter seems well put together so far , best colour is black. Seat comfortable Great Value at current price

Weaknesses

The gearbox is a bit rough downshifting and sometimes needs a firmer foot. The wheelbase is quite long and budget suspension gets out of shape when pushing on. Some cycle parts look cheap ,could use a gear indicator

Overall Review

Please note that this review was not written by the average size man so test ride one see for yourselves

Strengths

Very light and nimble, easy to flick around corners or the bumpers of d1ck heads that dont bother indicating, looks nice ang agressive, love the hidden exhaust which is tucked btween the back wheel and the sub cowling, builds up to an impressive howling <7,500rpm and will keep singing happily up to 11,000rpm, pleanty of space for pillion passengers, good breaking, reasonably low insurance group,

Weaknesses

the bike itself is too small for a rider with above average height, the seats are not comfortable and the back of the tank always end up where your nuts were, discomfort in right wrist and elbow (possibly due to the size/ riding possition of the bike) passenger seat even more uncomfortable than the riders, shoes get cacked if you hit a puddle the water dispurses from the wheel directly inline with your shoes, indicator lights are a bit naff,

Overall Review

My favourite bike in this category, I think it will outlast the others in looks and build quality. 3 stars is a bit mean!

Strengths

Best quality bike I saw in this 600cc ish category. Easy to live with evreyday very stable when riding slowly in traffic and tons of fun when bombing about on the weekends. More than enough brake power. Nice clear digital gauge and analogue rev counter. Good upright seating position. The 4 pipes into 1 underslung exhaust looks cool and overall looks more aggressive than its rivals. Less fussy design than others I think its looks will age better than others in same category. Top bike!

Weaknesses

Not much, could do with a gear indicator maybe and gear selection a bit notchy.

Overall Review

A great starter bike, predictable, easy to ride, and nice in the corners. Only let down by Yamaha being too keen to detune the engine into oblivion.

Strengths

Nice handling, light clutch, and very very easy to ride in towns. Plus, it looks like a baby streetfighter.

Weaknesses

The engine, it needs to be doing over 8k to get the bike really moving, and the reduced top end revs mean that you only have 3k to play with.

Overall Review

The Yamaha XJ6N is one of the Budget bigger bikes how ever it is one of the best bikes I have ridden before I bought this bike I test drove a Kawasaki z750 which worked well riding position was good but for me the bike was just to tall. When I Test drove the xj6 which was pre owned which came with extras Centre stand back box heated grips and a fly screen and adjustable break and clutch lever and it had been lowered. how ever I did get stuck on a grass patch while trying to get of the kerb. all I had to do was ben the lower faring back to where it was it was fine. I took the bike out for over an hour and went in and bought it. this was the bike I had been looking for Naked look and a road bike. Handling in the corners I have great response from the bike and doesn't feel out of control and I know I can always lean further. I use this bike for going to work and pleasure. I haven't had any Issues with the Running of the bike. if you do buy this bike id defiantly recommend you buy a centre stand as it comes in so hand for maintenance and for when resting the bike for months over the winter Break. I will be keeping this bike for the next few years. I haven't had it in for a mot yet but the Road Tax for this bike is £50 Pounds. The bike has enough power to get you out of Stick situations and enough control to keep you safe doing turns that may cause other bikes to skid. I have realy enjoyed the last 7 months of riding this bike and look forward to the next few years

Strengths

Very comfy if your like me and don't like being inverted on a sports bike the Xj6 is powerful but still comfy. The Looks are amazing if you like this sort of bike. Handling very easy and I don't feel unsafe while turning corners I have had it out in ice and it has been great. Great First Big Bike

Weaknesses

The light could be better when on a dark country lane you flick in to full beam it just doesn't seem to illuminate the area instead you just see a dull lightning of the entire area around you. Petrol its cheep to fill up but if your using it for town use I get to about 100 miles before it drops to one bar left and that's when I fill it up. 1 bar to full will cost you about 16 pounds not bad though for long motor ways use it will do 80 miles and only drop 2 bars bars are usually dropping on normal use every 18-25 miles. if yours has been lowerd watch out for Going down from High Kerbs
