Akrapovic titanium adventure footpegs announced

Akrapovic has just launched a new product that has nothing to do with helping gases escape from engines. This product is aimed firmly at keeping your boots in place!

The new Adventure Footpeg Set features a pair of titanium pegs that feature removable rubber inserts for those long stints on the motorway. Akrapovic states that they are cast in the same foundry and use the same materials as the Slovenian brand’s exhaust systems and end cans.

That, of course, means they are light, much lighter than conventional steel pegs. Obviously we are talking about minimal gains here, so don’t expect to bolt these onto your GS and see it turn into some apex-hunting supermoto.

Built from Grade 5 titanium (which is made up of 90 per cent titanium, 6 per cent aluminium, and 4 per cent vanadium), the new pegs are said to have high strength and excellent corrosion resistance, that last point making them particularly for British riders who use their bike all year round.

While the new pegs are not universal, they do fit a wide range of bikes with all the big names covered, including BMW, KTM and Ducati. Pricing varies from retailer to retailer, although we have seen some on sale for around $260 (which is around £200). A full list of the bikes the pegs fit can be found below.
