Overall Review

Bought my bike off of e-bay last year, a low mileage minter with 3500 > miles on the clock for less than 2 grand, although by the time I'd put a > corbin seat, screen and hugger on, it had just crept over the £2000 mark. > These bikes are'nt very popular because they will 'only' do 130 mph but I'm > happy with that and so will most riders be who are not sport focused. This > is an ideal bike for someone who hasn't had a big bike before, you can open > the throttle without losing grip. It tracks fine through the twisties but > gives you plenty of feedback. The tank range (240 to reserve) and economy > (55mpg) are the best I've had on a bike this size, and it's comfortable on > long trips even two up with luggage. The engine on these bikes is the last > of the Kawasaki air cooled 4's with a long pedigree of reliability and > engineering excellence. > On the down side, you have to stay on top of the cosmetics to keep it > pristine, and the quality of the finish is not as good as some other bikes. > If it's a sports bike you're after, most modern 600's will suit you better, > but if you want a user friendly all rounder, then give this one a try. > Attachments:

These can be picked up quite cheaply, they won't intimidate less experienced riders, and are good for commutes or tours or just Sunday runs. Kawasaki spent nearly 3 decades on this engine layout and its reliable and easy to work on

Strengths

perfect no nonsense first big bike, mines been to Portugal, france ,spain, Italy, 240 miles to reserve 125 mph, 55 mpg, 2 up touring no problem, reliable engine, cheap to buy, even looks good

Weaknesses

average build quality, not a dedicated sports bike,

Overall Review

I love this bike, looks good, handles well, gos well and sounds very nice. Mines now got 67000 miles (yes 67 thousand) on the clock and still going strong with no problems, yes its got the typical kawaski sewing machine noise on tick over but being a kawasaki it no doubt had that from new. Iv ridden this bike all day before and got of it as fresh as when i got on it,the seat is that comfortable. Has decent strorage under the seat.

Strengths

Nice muscle bike, sounds nice, decent build quality, bullet proof engine, good paint, adjustable brake and clutch levers. The seat is like an armchair.

Weaknesses

Engine paint can flake off, front suspension not adjustable, really does need a 6thgear.
